Adopt America Network is Helping Waiting Kids Find Moms (and Dads)- Adope America Staff
Adopt America Network doesn't want to be one of Toledo’s best kept secrets. We want everyone to know that there are over 100,000 children waiting in U.S. foster care for it to be their turn to go home with an adoptive family.
The panel will present information about the waiting kids and how Adopt America works collaboratively with public agencies like Lucas County to find families for the children.

Dealing With Loss and Grief - Beatrice Daniels
A loved one passes away. A job is eliminated. A marriage ends. A friend walks away. Grief can be found in many aspects of our lives. Most associate it with death, but we all suffer grief, when the unexpected happens and we are not prepared to deal with it. Join Beatrice Daniels as she shares her tools for coping and getting through the tough times as she presents Grief:101. Beatrice is a grief and trauma coach that has experienced loss firsthand and for more than 18 years, helped those in need through her non-profit organization, A Journey Through Healing.

Women of the World Panel - From Girl to Woman. From: What I was Told – To: What I Became
If women are women…why are they different? All around the world and even within United States, girls are raised to become women based on cultures, religions, families and environment. The unique women in this panel will give an overview of what it was to grow up in their “circle”, what was expected from them, and… did they follow what they were told? Interesting. Fun. Diverse.

Sistas Movin’ On - CeCe Norwood
Living a happy life following incest and child sexual abuse is often elusive to many survivors and a daunting task for those who seek a happy and productive life. Some survivors seek counseling but stop because they don’t believe they’re improving. Counselors become frustrated because clients are not progressing. Family and partners have no idea how to help. This workshop will assist survivors, partners, family members and professionals understand a new approach to obtaining happiness following incest and child sexual abuse. By understanding “The Acceptances”, following “The Promises And Permissions”, and invoking “Trigger Busters” survivors will journey to happiness with greater ease and understanding.

American Association of University Women - Women in History Portals
Women in History is a project of Toledo Branch, American Association of University Women (AAUW). Since 1994, the Women in History Project has offered an opportunity to “see history a new way” to school children. In 15-30 minute programs, students, and now, adults as well, meet remarkable women who overcame obstacles in order to meet their goals. Amazing women who will be sharing their stories today are Eleanor Roosevelt and others yet to be determined.

So you’ve empowered your resume and your career. Now it’s time to empower your wardrobe! This session will focus on the basics of dressing professionally from head to toe. Whether it’s a business-casual day at work, interview-wear, or a business professional networking event, these tips and tricks from Kate’s Closet at UT’s Eberly Center for Women will have you looking like an executive in no time!
